Accommodation Payments and Key Features | Woolgoolga and District Retirement Village

Accommodation Payments - these payments relate to the cost of your accommodation in an aged care home and are in addition to the Ongoing Care Fees.

This payment is only applicable if your assets exceed an amount set by the Australian Government and is agreed with our Centre prior to your occupation.

The Accommodation Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

A refundable accommodation deposit (RAD) - This is a lump sum payment.
A daily accommodation payment (DAP) - This is a daily payment.
A combination of both the RAD & DAP.

A Resident has up to twenty-eight (28) days, after entering the Centre, to decide on their payment method.

COURTYARD ROOM - $350,000

We have 1 Courtyard Room which is a lovely sunny room that has its own private courtyard and offers a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. This room is furnished with a built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed and bedside table. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. Recreational /Lifestyle Activities which are open to all Residents are gazetted in a monthly program. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan, a wall mounted television, and provision for a telephone should you wish to have it connected. In our Courtyard Room, you also have access to a fully equipped, air conditioned, lounge room and dining room situated just a short distance from your room. We also have two additional day lounges with kitchenettes and a small quiet room, which you are welcome to use. For those that wish to maintain their independence, we have, in addition to our fully serviced on-site laundry, two laundries comprising washing machines, dryers, clothes lines, ironing boards and irons. Activities, functions and visiting entertainment are held in our Activities and/or Friendship Room.

Our Residents enjoy time in our three courtyards, peaceful gardens, gazebo and BBQ area. Artists from our local art gallery have provided our Residents with a tranquil spa bath room to enjoy and our hairdressing salon is open twice a week for all your grooming needs. We also have a Podiatrist who visits the village monthly. For those that love books, board games and puzzles, we have a well stocked and regularly updated library located in our Activities Room. We are located in a quiet coastal village setting with a walking/mobility scooter pathway which takes you into the heart of our beachside community, the township of Woolgoolga.

The maximum price that you can be charged for our Courtyard Room is a refundable deposit of $350,000.00 or daily payments of $67.69 or a combination of both.

You have 28 days after entering a home to decide how you want to pay your accommodation payment. You can chose:

A refundable accommodation deposit is a lump sum payment, the balance of which is refunded when you leave.
A daily accommodation payment is a rental style payment that is paid on a regular basis, payable up to a month in advance, and is not refundable.
A combination of the two.

Explanation of payment options

Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both. A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

You can choose to pay for your accommodation payment with both a part lump sum refundable accommodation deposit and ongoing rental style daily accommodation payments. You can negotiate the amount of lump sum and rental style payments with the home.

Example of a combination payment for room
For this room a resident could pay, for example, 50% of the price by a refundable deposit of $175,000.00 and 50% of the price by daily payments of $33.84.

COURTYARD VIEW ROOM OR GARDEN VIEW ROOM - $375,000

Our 17 Courtyard View Rooms all have beautiful outlooks onto one of the Villages stunning and tranquil Courtyards. Our 9 Garden View Rooms all overlook our tranquil gardens. These rooms offer a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. These rooms are furnished with a built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed and bedside table. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. Recreational /Lifestyle Activities which are open to all Residents are gazetted in a monthly program. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan, a wall mounted television, and provision for a telephone should you wish to have it connected. For this room a resident could pay, for example, 50% of the price by a refundable deposit of $187,500.00 and 50% of the price by daily payments of $36.26.

DELUXE COURTYARD VIEW ROOM / DELUXE GARDEN VIEW ROOM / HEADLAND VIEW ROOM / OCEAN VIEW ROOM - $420,000

We have 6 Deluxe Courtyard View Rooms which look onto or overlook one of our three tranquil central Courtyards, 8 Deluxe Garden View Rooms that all have beautiful views of our tranquil gardens or local bushlands, 9 Headland View Rooms that all have views of our beautiful mid north coast and/or Woolgoolga Headland and 4 Ocean View Rooms with ocean glimpses. A number of these rooms also have a small private courtyard for you to enjoy. These rooms feature a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. Our rooms are furnished with a built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed and bedside table. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. DELUXE OCEAN VIEW ROOM - $430,000
PREMIUM OCEAN VIEW ROOM / COTTAGE ROOMS - $450,000

These rooms feature a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. Our rooms are furnished with a built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed and bedside table. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. Recreational /Lifestyle Activities which are open to all Residents are gazetted in a monthly program. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan, a wall mounted television, and provision for a telephone should you wish to have it connected.Our 2 Cottage Rooms are perfect for couples accommodation and offer a private sitting room and kitchenette. The Cottage rooms feature a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. Our rooms are furnished with built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed, bedside table and window furnishings. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. Recreational / Lifestyle Activities which are open to all Residents are gazetted in a monthly program. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan, a wall mounted television, and provision for a telephone should you wish to have it connected.

Our 2 Premium Ocean View Rooms have beautiful views of the mid north coast and/or Woolgoolga Headland, and offer a small sun drenched private balcony from which you can sit and watch the whales as they migrate up the coast. These rooms feature a spacious bed/sitting room with a private en-suite, which is fully equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. Our rooms are furnished with a built-in-wardrobe, an electric high/low bed and bedside table. Linen, towels, personal hygiene products and bedding are provided and the room is fully serviced. Recreational /Lifestyle Activities which are open to all Residents are gazetted in a monthly program. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan, a wall mounted television, and provision for a telephone should you wish to have it connected.

Our 2 Cottage Rooms are perfect for couples accommodation and offer something unique. They offer two rooms and are in a single accommodation block called 'The Cottage'. Each Cottage Room provides access to a fully equipped, air conditioned, lounge room and kitchenette which as mentioned is situated within your own private dwelling. We also have two additional day lounges with kitchenettes and a small quiet room, which you are welcome to use in our adjoining accommodation just a short stroll away. For those that wish to maintain their independence, we have, in addition to our fully serviced on-site laundry, two laundries comprising washing machines, dryers, clothes lines, ironing boards and irons. The maximum price that you can be charged for a Premium Ocean View Room or for a Cottage Room is a refundable deposit of $450,000.00 or daily payments of $87.04 or a combination of both.

For a Premium Ocean View Room or a Cottage Room a resident could pay, for example, 50% of the price by a refundable deposit of $225,000.00 and 50% of the price by daily payments of $43.52.
